I just adore this outfit

I got this fabric and just had to make something out of it.
It will go up for auction in my store tomorrow. There is also a slot for a custom sized raglan top going up tomorrow too.

Struggling...

Because of everything else in my life right now, my sewing is taking a hit. I just can't "get into" it as much. I still have to finish my cousin's wedding throw quilt. The top is done (and has been for a long time), the backing and batting are ready, just got to put it together and "quilt" it, just can't get "into it". And the thing is if I do it just cause i feel pressured too, it won't come out as good as i want, so i'm just gonna wait a bit. You have what 6 months to get them their wedding gift?

The store is going to open on Saturday. Only a few items, i'd hoped to do more but i am just realizing that I am one person. The store was just to be a hobby thing, to help me support my hobby a little bit. So i'm just gonna keep telling myself that.

I have been doing sewing. I made some squishy blocks. I made another pair of flannel lounge pants for yet another trade (i love trading). I also made some Christmas gift bags today. Fabric gift bags that can be reused. I love them, they came out really cute.

Anyway just some rambling. Check out the store to see what i've come up with SEW far.

Lounge Pants

I made 2 pairs of flannel lounge pants for a trade with a fellow WAHM. I think they are so cute. I'm gonna be making some for Faith, i think they'll be super awesome for the winter months. I love flannel, so soft. I even got a pattern for men's lounge pants and am going to try making some for John, not sure how that will go, I'll let ya know :-)

I took the plunge

Into having my own shopping cart for my handmade items...
keep watch for updates.
Please excuse the "simpleness" of it, i am doing my own editing of graphics and what not and I am by no means good at it.

A few recent projects...

I've made 3 more nightgowns this week for trades, they are super cute. It's so weird to make bigger sizes, i'm so used to making Faith's size :-)
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

I made Faith 2 pairs of training pants, they came out really great, i only took pictures of one. They are the same with the exception the 2nd pair has pink snaps instead of white.

Perhaps my favorite so far this week is this flannel PJ bottoms w/ appliqued shirt top. Just looks so adorable. Faith kept petting the pants saying "ohhhh soft mama". Guess i'll have to make her some flannel PJs.

Mermaid Nightgown

I took a break from the wedding gift I am currently working on to make a nightgown for a trade with another mama. Her daughter picked mermaids and I just think it came out so sweet so I wanted to share.

A special gift for a special friend on her wedding day...

Okay so Gabby shouldn't be reading here today, she's getting married in about 5 hours. So i figure it's safe to post pictures of what I have made for her. I hope she loves it.
First up is a table runner to match her kitchen theme of grapes. It's extremely hard to photograph a long table runner, i could have done it outside had it not been raining the day i wanted to take the picture.

Then i made a couple hot pads (with the special insulating batting) for the table, could also be used as pot holders.

This is a casserole carrier, the pictures show it with my own casserole dish, i got her a new one for it though :-) I also included a special flip book of my favorite casserole recipes (i forgot to take a picture of that before i wrapped everything up). I printed a bunch of recipes on card stock, laminated them, made a cover and put it on a ring for easy flipping. The pattern for the carrier came from my friend Tracy who saw it in a magazine recently. I really think it's cute. It also has the special insulating batting to keep your dishes hot or cold.

Finally my absolute favorite item i made, and it's not sewn but it's still crafty. I bought a big picture frame and special mat. I decoupaged it with many papers that match her kitchen theme. I created a special center panel to mark their special day and left the other two areas blank for photos of the wedding. I really am thrilled with how it turned out.

Let me know what you think. Hope you love them Gabby!

Airplanes

I made this outfit for a toddler swap i'm doing over on Sewing Mamas and I just LOVE how it turned out. I made the pants a few weeks ago and last night got the applique done on the shirt, isn't it adorable, by far one of my favorite appliques so far.

Some new dresses

Up first is Faith's fall apple picking dress. It's the round neck top pattern lengthened into a dress. Could certainly be worn alone but here I paired it with simple turtleneck and leggins for a fall look.
PhotobucketPhotobucket

Next are two curved bodice dresses. The first i learned a few little things about the pattern so it came out a bit wonky in areas. Faith couldn't wait to model it so here it is unhemmed. Then the next picture is completed.

Finally, Faith was invited to a birthday party for our little friend Sam who is turning 2. It looks "puckered" and a bit uneven in the picture, but it's just how it's laying on the carpet, someday i'll get better at taking pictures of things.
Her mommy doesn't read my blog so i figured i'd show you what I made for her, however her auntie does read it what do you think Tracey?
